Facebook Live: Hear from NACAC’s GWI Keynote Speaker

Why do you do what you do?

It’s a question that even the most dedicated professionals benefit from asking themselves, said David Dixon, this year’s Guiding the Way to Inclusion (GWI) keynote speaker.

“Beyond the how and what, the why is the piece that is both the foundation and the fuel…for being an advocate,” Dixon said earlier today during a Facebook Live chat with NACAC’s Crystal Newby. During the 20-minute conversation, Dixon and Newby talked about this year’s GWI conference, the importance of college access, and Dixon’s own work advocating on behalf of students.

Dixon worked in college admission and enrollment management for nearly a decade at Oglethorpe University (GA) before moving to education policy work. He currently serves as a senior legal and policy advisor with EducationCounsel.

Watch the full conversation and learn more about this year’s GWI conference. The three-day event kicks off in Washington, DC, on July 29.
