As costs continue to rise, planning how to finance a four-year degree has become an essential part of the college application process.

A new resource from NACAC aims to clear up the confusion around college affordability and spark necessary conversations.

Created in collaboration with the association’s Current Trends and Future Issues committee, NACAC’s new handouts are designed to highlight the value of a college degree, showcase the true cost of college, and break down borrowing options.

“With the ever-increasing costs for higher education opportunities, coupled with the equal levels of misinformation out there around colleges’ affordability and value, the committee felt NACAC was well positioned to help inform and change this narrative,” said Donald Kamentz, committee chair.

“Starting with these handouts, we hope these generalized resources will be used by multiple targeted audiences and stakeholders — college counseling and admission professionals, college-bound students, and their families.”
