It’s National Transfer Student Week!
Through Friday, the National Institute for the Study of Transfer Students is encouraging educators to recognize and celebrate transfer students and the professionals who support them.
Nationally, more than a third of all students transfer at least once during their college career — and NACAC research shows that colleges recognize the unique needs of transfer students. According to data included in the association’s most recent State of College Admission report:
- Nine in 10 colleges regard transfer students as considerably or moderately important to overall enrollment goals.
- 90 percent of public colleges and 70 percent of private colleges participate in articulation agreements with community colleges.
- 81 percent of colleges have at least one admission officer who works exclusively with prospective transfer students.
