FAFSA State Deadlines are Approaching

Need financial aid for the 2019-20 academic year?

The US Department of Education is reminding students to remain cognizant of deadlines when completing the FAFSA.

While the form is primarily used to award federal financial aid, many states also use the FAFSA to assess eligibility for their aid programs — and some of those deadlines are on the horizon.

More than 2 million students have already filed a FAFSA this fall, and department officials have released new resources to help counselors and others reach those who haven’t yet completed their applications. The updated toolkit includes sample social media posts, reminder emails, posters, and more.

In addition, on Thursday, Nov. 29, Federal Student Aid will host a webinar that takes students and parents through the FAFSA line-by-line. The free hour-long program will begin at 3 p.m. ET and will be archived for those who wish to access it at a later date.

View the new FAFSA outreach materials and check out additional financial aid resources on NACAC’s website.
