But the group is apparently looking to expand its offerings.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In a request for proposals released on Feb. 27, the consortium said it was looking to partner with an organization that provides college admission testing, such as ACT or the College Board.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs the RFP lays it out, a combined test could help reduce the amount of time high school students, many of whom take the SAT or ACT in addition to state assessments, spend on testing,\u201d <em>Education Week<\/em> notes. \u201cIt might also give students more incentives to do well on the SBAC exam.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The consortium expects to select a winning proposal in May, <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.edweek.org\/edweek\/curriculum\/2017\/02\/smarter_balanced_looks_to_combine_common_core_college_entrance_tests.html\">according to the blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Admitted\u00a0writer\/editor Mary Stegmeir welcomes additional comments and story ideas at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/nacacadmitted.wpengine.com\/wordpress\/index.php\/2017\/03\/08\/etiquette-advice-for-students-facing-questions-about-college\/mstegmeir@nacacnet.org\">mstegmeir@nacacnet.org.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Could a new college admission exam be on the horizon?
