What hopes and fears do they have for their children?<\/p>\n<p>NACAC member Brennan Barnard, director of college counseling at the Derryfield School (NH), recently asked moms and dads to share their outlook.<\/p>\n<p>He published the answers in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/answer-sheet\/wp\/2017\/01\/04\/the-deepest-fears-and-hopes-parents-harbor-about-their-kids-applying-to-college\/?utm_term=.ae3165c0c5fd#comments\">a recent <em>Washington Post<\/em> column<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Responses varied. One parent worried about the partying culture that defines campus life at some colleges.
