Conversations around the holiday dinner table often dump family pressure onto college students. She encourages parents to let their children find their own way.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToo often, students feel familial pressure and guilt to pursue certain majors, earn certain grades,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/parenting\/wp\/2017\/09\/18\/helping-freshmen-succeed-tips-from-college-advisors\/?noredirect=on&amp;utm_term=.08e35aedc299\">Nelson told the <em>Post<\/em>.<\/a> \u201cRecognize that their journey to success and happiness may be very different from your own.
