Looking for summer reading suggestions for yourself or the students you serve?<\/p>\n

NACAC member Brennan Barnard has released his annual compilation of book recommendations.<\/p>\n

The full list\u00a0<\/a>\u2014 featuring titles suggested by college admission deans and counselors \u2014 appears on\u00a0The Washington Post<\/em>\u00a0website. Some selections are related to education, while other titles are simply good reads.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s list includes over 40 books. Both fiction and nonfiction titles are featured.<\/p>\n

Nathan Grawe\u2019s Demographics and the Demand for Higher Education<\/em> appears alongside Angie Thomas\u2019 award-winning young adult novel, The Hate U Give<\/em>. Also included are Jean Twenge\u2019s\u00a0iGen<\/em>, Julissa Arce\u2019s My (Underground) American Dream<\/em>, and Kate Fagen\u2019s\u00a0What Made Maddy Run.<\/em><\/p>\n

This is the sixth year that Barnard, director of college counseling at The Derryfield School (NH), has had his list published by a major US newspaper.<\/p>\n

The\u00a02014<\/a>,\u00a02015<\/a>,\u00a02016<\/a>, and 2017<\/a>\u00a0editions were also picked up by Post<\/em>;\u00a02013\u2019s list<\/a>\u00a0appeared in\u00a0The New York Times<\/em>.<\/p>\n
