But the process doesn\u2019t stop there.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Department of Education released a list this week\u00a0of the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.ed.gov\/2017\/09\/5-things-filing-fafsa-form\/\">\u201c5 Things to Do After Filing Your FAFSA Form,\u201d<\/a> pointing out some of the ways students can stay proactive throughout the financial aid process.<\/p>\n<p>Though some items might seem like common sense, the list also highlights a lesser known, but important, point: Even if you submit your FAFSA early, you might not get an aid offer right away. Each school works on their own timetable for awarding and paying out financial aid.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe FAFSA people,\u201d the blog points out, do not disburse aid. Colleges do.
