Campus leaders who want to support undocumented students have a new place to turn for information.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, the Protect Dreamers Higher Education Coalition<\/a>, of which NACAC is a member, created a new website<\/a> highlighting facts about undocumented students and providing advocacy resources.<\/p>\n

The coalition is encouraging colleges and universities to recognize Oct. 16-20 as Protect Dreamers Week<\/a>. New resources created to help educators and others advocate on behalf of DREAMers include a fact sheet<\/a> and talking points<\/a>.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Like NACAC, the coalition supports passage of bipartisan legislation that would extend legal protections to certain individuals and allow those currently protected by the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program to continue living, working, and studying in the US.<\/p>\n

President Trump announced in September that DACA will end in six months. Unless Congress acts in their favor, DACA recipients \u2014 45 percent of whom are currently enrolled in school or college \u2014 will lose protection on March 6.<\/p>\n
