{"id":14,"date":"2016-10-26T10:00:08","date_gmt":"2016-10-26T10:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nacacadmitted.wpengine.com\/wordpress\/?p=14"},"modified":"2017-01-19T12:03:04","modified_gmt":"2017-01-19T17:03:04","slug":"report-net-price-continues-to-grow-for-college-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/admitted.nacacnet.org\/wordpress\/index.php\/2016\/10\/26\/report-net-price-continues-to-grow-for-college-students\/","title":{"rendered":"Report: Net Price Continues to Grow for College Students"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Despite only modest increases to tuition and fees, the cost of a college education continues to outpace growth in financial aid, family incomes, and the average prices of other goods and services.<\/p>\n<p>The findings are included in two reports \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/trends.collegeboard.org\/student-aid\"><em>Trends in Student Aid<\/em><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/trends.collegeboard.org\/college-pricing\"><em>Trends in College Pricing<\/em><\/a> \u2014 released this morning by The College Board.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe reports document that, despite the moderate increases in average published prices, there were considerable increases in net tuition and fees over the past few years,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.collegeboard.org\/releases\/2016\/trends-higher-education-reports-declines-student-borrowing-increases-prices\">report co-author Jennifer Ma said in a press release<\/a>. \u201cThese increases, combined with stagnant incomes for many families, raise concerns about ensuring educational opportunities for low- and moderate-income students.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition, data show that although reliance on student loans is higher than it was a decade ago, borrowing for college has declined over the past five years.
