Looking for summer reading suggestions for yourself or the students you serve?<\/p>\n

NACAC member Brennan Barnard has released his annual compilation of book recommendations.<\/p>\n

The full list<\/a> \u2014 featuring titles suggested by college admission deans and counselors \u2014 appears on The Washington Post<\/em> website. Some selections are related to education, while other titles are simply good reads.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s list includes 50 books. Both fiction and nonfiction titles are featured.<\/p>\n

Ta-Nahisi Coates\u2019 bestseller Between the World and Me<\/em> appears alongside Julie Schumacher\u2019s humorous novel, Dear Committee Members<\/em>. Also included are Ron Suskind\u2019s A Hope Unseen<\/em>; Karin Tanabe\u2019s The Gilded Years<\/em>; and Frances Jensen\u2019s The Teenage Brain<\/em>.<\/p>\n

This is the fifth year that Barnard, director of college counseling at The Derryfield School (NH), has had his list published by a major US newspaper.<\/p>\n

The 2014<\/a>, 2015<\/a>, and 2016<\/a> editions were also picked up by Post; 2013\u2019s list<\/a> appeared in The New York Times<\/em>.<\/p>\n
