ACT to Launch Free Test Prep Tool

Free test prep materials will soon be available online for students preparing to take the ACT.

The Iowa-based testing company announced this week that it would launch ACT Academy in the spring. The platform will include video lessons, interactive practice questions, full-length practice tests, and educational games.

Each student will receive a personalized study plan based on their scores from the ACT test, the PreACT, ACT practice tests, or diagnostics completed within the ACT Academy platform.

“ACT Academy will help students improve their readiness for the ACT test and college readiness…” ACT official Suzana Delanghe said in a press release. “And the fact that ACT Academy will be free to all students is yet another way ACT is working to close gaps in equity, opportunity, and achievement for underserved learners.”

Academy materials were developed by ACT, Khan Academy, NASA, PBS, and other educational organizations. The platform will be compatible with all devices, including smartphones and tablets.

The Academy’s launch will give students more free opportunities to prepare for college admission exams. In 2015, College Board began offering free materials to help students get ready for the SAT.
